Washington trip part 1

It had been at least four years since we had been home to Washington to visit so we figured it was time to go. The thing is it's a LONG drive from Vegas to Seattle, 21 hours long. So we divided the trip into two days.

Our fist day Todd actually had to take a test for his CPA license. He scheduled it so that he could take it  in the morning in St. George which gave us a head start on our travel. Once we dropped him off to take his test the kids and I had to find something to do. Luckily I had bee to St. George with my YW and new of a few local attractions to check out.

First we went to the temple and visitors center. We spend a good amount of time there with so much to see. We took pictures at the temple trying to stay out of all the wedding pictures being taken that day.

We then went inside the visitors center and learned a lot about the St. George temple. Like how they used a cannon to crush the granite to make a foundation for the temple.

The kids sat and listened to the Christus and after wanted to do it again, unfortunately there was a bus load of french tourist coming in at that time and we had to move on.

It was a beautiful afternoon and we all really enjoyed being at the temple.

Once we were done there it was lunch time and I had seen this park when we visited the tabernacle with the YW so we ended up there for lunch.

It was perfect and even had a little splash park the kids played in for a while.

We also took the tour of the tabernacle and got to see lots of cool things. After wards we headed to another park to play and wait for Todd to finish his test. We also found a great ice cream place that had HUGE shakes that the kids loved. We really enjoyed discovering St. George.
