Ellie's turn

I've been wanting to get pictures of Ellie in her tutu since I made it and yesterday we did an impromptu photo session. How did I get such cute kids?!!

Brave Weiland

Yesterday we bit the bullet and took Wei in for his boosters for kindergarten. He did pretty good going, no fits or drama. Quinton came with him for moral support and did a great job comforting him after.

As soon as they made him lay down on the table he lost it. Knowing that something is going to happen to you that's going to hurt, I don't blame him. There were tears and it made my heart hurt to watch, but he did great and survived.

After we went to McD's for ice cream and to play. As soon as we were in the parking lot he'd forgotten all about the shots.

So glad it's done and we don't have to stress about it all summer. He's so excited for kindergarten!

bedtime

Lately Ellie has been found downstairs around 4pm fast asleep. I'm thinking it's due to playing outside all day and then just being tuckered out. With this comes late nights at bedtime due to the fact that she's not tired. She comes up with many excuses to get out of bed, mostly it's "I need to see you".

Last night was no exception, but I don't recall finding her asleep anywhere yesterday. This is how Todd found her last night when he went to check on her.

She had gotten ALL the baby books out and went through them, her shoes, dolls, and other books. This room was clean when I put her in bed, at least she stayed in her room and entertained herself. Silly girl.

New Endeavor

Most of you know I use to own a wedding decorating business when I lived in WA. Well since moving and having kids I had to let that go due to lack of time and taking advantage of family for babysitting. I've really missed the creative part of that and after some consideration am starting a new business. This is a party decor kinda thing. Things I can make here at home and mail out to people. It's called "Positively Perfect" and I'll be doing custom orders for birthdays baby showers, bridal showers, etc. I've got my blog up and you can take a look at some things I've been doing and better description of things you can get. It is still early so I haven't got a lot of pictures yet but should with in this next month or two since I'm doing 4 parties. So take a look and pass the word on to friends and family. I'm so excited to get this going!

Dinner conversation

Tonight was a good night at our dinner table. No one complained about dinner and Quinton even ate the corn on his plate. During the course of dinner we were talking about how smart Quinton is and he informed Todd that he was even smarter than mom. Todd said really, then said Quinton what's 100 plus 100, Quinton answers, 900. Then Todd says mom what's 100 plus 100 I say 200, Todd says mom's right. Quinton looked astonished. Well then the questioning continued to see how much mom knows, mom whats 200 plus 200, what's 400 plus 400, then Weiland chimes in "what comes after 5"? I like Weiland's line of questioning.

Quinton's dragon report

I know I don't remember my experience in kindergarten very clearly. There was a Mr. Owl who brought notes to us, there were nap mats, a play kitchen etc. But I know I never had to give a 5 minute oral report. I guess times have changed.

Quinton was sent home with a note back in October stating he'd need to do a five to seven minute oral report on an animal of his choice. And of course the animal changed each time we'd ask him what he's want to do it on. So three weeks out from our deadline we had him make a decision and he chose dragons. (I wasn't sure if a mythical creature counted or not so we blended in Komodo dragons) We went to the library and checked out any book they had on dragons and brought them home to do our research. The boys loved looking through the books and would pull them out often to look. We made fake dragon scales to show his class as well as had our mini version to show.

I don't know where the kid gets his confidence from but he wasn't nervous or embarrassed at all. We practiced every night for a week and he did great!
I am such a proud mom, Wei and Ellie got to go listen as well and were a great audience. So proud of you Q!

We did video tape this but it was a little to long to post, sorry grandparents, you'll have to watch when you come visit.

And last of all

Holland and I had our own little photo shoot this afternoon, I had a few ideas I wanted to try out

And last but not least is Holland. She has been such a fun baby and oddly very calm. You'd think with the attention she gets from her brothers and sister she'd be wound up tight. She is quick to smile and happy just to sit or lay where ever. I've gotten braver about putting her on the floor but of course would never leave her where I couldn't keep an eye on her and watch out for another sibling. I'm excited to see how much she'll change just this year but also anxious for her to stay little. I love the "talking" noises she makes and her laugh. Todd is best at getting her to laugh and she sure loves her daddy. I can't imagine our family with out her and I am always grateful she is healthy and strong. We had our 6 month check up this week and it turns out she's a tall one. She ranked in the 90th percentile for height and 60th for weight. I'm thinking she'll have Quinton's build, lucky girl. We sure love Holland round here and look forward to whats to come.

You can go here to see all the cute pictures, they're on the first two pages.

and another thing,

And then there is Ellie. Ellie makes me smile. I always catch her doing some crazy or cute thing. Sometimes is dancing and singing to herself, sometimes it's hearing her tell her version of a story, sometimes it's pretending in her kitchen, sometimes it's her coloring her "homework", sometimes it's hearing her say the words to a movie when the movie isn't on, I could go on and on. She is so different from the boys. They never sang in the car or were into coloring and she is. She tries really hard to be a good big sister and loves Holland to death! Of course she is also very dramatic and so when something is wrong you'll definitely know about it. She is my girly girl who can also keep up with her brothers. She likes to pack a purse around and then unpack it and repack it. She loves her daddy very much and gives the best kisses and hugs. I remember finding out I was finally having a girl and how very excited I was and she hasn't disappointed at all, I love having a girl, drama included, and I am so thankful that she is part of our family. We wouldn't be complete with out her. Love you ell bell.

I had to throw in the picture of her organization skills and love of shoes all in one.
